About the Author Devian Nikei is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina. This actress, singer/songwriter, choreographer and entertainer is also an author. Her first novel, critically-acclaimed Safety In Lovers was released on her own publishing company Nikei Novels. Her love of writing and literature began on the campus of Fayetteville State University where she wrote competitively earning various awards and acknowledgements. She is currently writing and pursuing a B.S in Psychology in her hometown.

Highly impressive and amazing read By RaShunna Crockett Ferguson Since this is my second novel from this particular talented author I went into this with a set of great expectations. Only to have my expectations to be blown out the water. Have you ever got so drawn into a book that you forget about all other realities. And you are almost sadden when it is over and you have to go back to the basic reality. This was the first time I read a book from cover to cover in one sitting in a very long time. The story was very captivating with a multidimensional plot, attention to detail and amazing characters. It was almost like a mental carnival. Every chapter uniquely standing out but it fitting together like a cohesive jigsaw. The novel gave you all the elements that you could expect from an urban novel. However in addition to the expected, therevwas an underlying nod to spirituality and the process of finding one’s purpose and ultimate identity. My favorite part was probably the last section when it bought it close to home and felt like a trusted girlfriend testifying of their experience with an helping of old soul advice. It was like a happily ever after without any of the fairytales, rainbows, and unicorns. I most definitely stand in awe of the magnitude of this author’s talent. I highly recommend this novel and any other novel this author writes if you want to be enlightened, inspired, and thoroughly entertained

The well-developed characters and fluidity of the book had me wanting it to never end. While reading the book, I felt every thought and feeling I had towards each character laid in the balance of the next line written. The love triangle between the main characters (Dennison, Rashaun and Denae) will have you dissect and delve into your own understanding of what we call love, but more interestingly who we love. Let’s just say….. The ending took me by surprise…. Fingers crossed the author can be encouraged/ coerced to write the sequel to this novel!!
