I am a true do-it-yourself kind of girl and know the benefit of being able to make and do things rather than buy them.The author of this fine book engaged me immediately when I started reading. I have a special affinity for anyone who struggles or has struggled with weight loss, as I have been doing so almost twenty years.The witty, fun author tells of her struggle to lose weight for several years, and how she finally discovered the wonder of protein bars. I can't decide which is better; the fact that most of the bars require not cooking or baking, or the fact that they are super healthy and filling.Several different recipes are given in this great book, along with creative substitutions for certain ingredients. This book is a true treasure for anyone who is looking to get healthier and lose weight. Protein foods are far more filling than any other, and protein bars are incredibly convenient. They can be made easily and quickly, and are portable enough to be taken anywhere. Life is fast paced for most of us, and these provide a healthy option for the busiest days.I am so grateful that I discovered this book and cannot wait to try out some of the recipes contained therein. Good luck to you on your quest towards a healthier lifestyle.

This book is a winner with its homemade protein bar recipes. The author hit the nail on the head with moving away from store-bought bars and into making her own where she can control what goes into the recipe. I am looking forward to trying some of these. She also incorporates her new and improved work out sessions along with the recipes. This book is wonderful to help overcome snacking and eating healthier snacks. I am going to try the protein brownies as they look extremely easy to make and I am a huge choco-holic!

I was horrified at how they tasted. I quickly through away what was left and I have not touched them since. This book caught my eye as I was browsing and I thought about the homemade kind, so I thought I will give it a try. The PB and Chocolate one sounds really good and I plan on making them right away. The rest of her recipes she has shared sound delicious. She has also included her work out plan. If you have not been a protein bar fan, this might change your mind.
