About the Author Georgia Verble Herren is the author of Where Angels Walked and the cookbook Hey, Mom, What's for Supper? She was born and reared in Livingston, Tennessee, and resides with her husband, Herman, in Clinton, Tennessee. She credits her strong lifetime interest in the art of cooking to her mother who had a reputation as one of the best cooks in Overton County, Tennessee. While clinging to her mother's apron strings at the age of five, Georgia learned to mix and shape dough for biscuits and then prepare other food servings. She preferred learning to cook in the Goolsby kitchen over playing with dolls. Georgia believes cooking and dining with family and friends should always be enjoyable experiences. She hopes readers will find this collection of recipes tempting and that it will help develop a special interest in great cooking, which today is bordering on becoming a “lost art.”

Besides having many wonderful recipes, it has very helpful cooking hints and advice. These recipes have been used for many years. The Salmon Patties, Crock-Pot Fried Chicken, Meal Gravy, Country Fried Potatoes, Quick n' Simple Southwestern Chili, the Jam Cake and Pumpkin and Cream Cheese Roll Up are just a few examples of delicious recipes found in this cookbook. Every cook will be able to find recipes for many delightful meals.

I have tried several of these recipes already and they are delicious. I have several more tagged to try soon. There are lots of tips and hints throughout the book to help improve ones cooking skills. I love Hey Mom, What's for Supper and plan to give copies to family members for Christmas. Great addition to anyone's cookbook collection. Happy Cooking!

Georgia has accomplished what she wants to do in my opinion, because I believe the same as she: a delicious meal prepared by loving hands is the greatest gift a mother can give to her children and other family members.
