10 of 11 people found the following review helpful. Canned bean recipes By Angela C Canned beans are not frugal. Canned beans are expensive, over $1 a can in many stores. Cooked beans would be much less expensive and frugal, yet this book includes just one page with generic hints for cooking beans.The author needs to return to the drawing board and start the book with how to cook each type of beans.Canned beans are not nearly as healthy as home cooked dry beans. The recipes here are decent recipes, but need to be rewritten to include at least the cup measurement equivalent of cooked beans to equal the "can" so freshly cooked beans can be used instead.
3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Was very disappointed with this book By Amazon Customer Was very disappointed with this book. I was hoping for many more recipes using dry beans, but most are for canned beans. I do not use anything canned do to the high levels of BPA found in cans.

About a year ago I donated an entire library of books to an Indian reservation and to a person who restocks private library collections. I have been replacing that whole library over time on my Kindle. I also have been adding new books I am interested in. This is one of the new ones that caught my attention. I enjoyed it very much.
