1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Horror Erotica at its Finest By Andrew Kuligowski Dear Ms. Hudis,I've recently completed reading your recent work, “The Guitarist”. (Thank you for sending me a review copy, by the way.) I found it managed to bring out many different emotions in me.* Intrigue – Not so much “what was going to happen next”, because, quite frankly, the conflict was predictable, at least at a high level. (That's not necessarily a bad thing, either, not for the story you were trying to tell.) Rather, it was an intrigue as to HOW you were going to proceed to the next anticipated step in the story. AND how you were going to climax / resolve it.* Disappointment – It's very difficult to tell a story when the antagonist is an inanimate object. (That's not much of a spoiler, it's pretty obvious from the beginning.) I prefer that scenes involving said object involve subtlety. For the most part, you do this. However, there is at least one scene where a character alleges a direct threat from said object – and it's difficult to picture, let alone take seriously as a reader. Keep stuff like that more subtle, and things will be more effective (at least in my opinion, the expression of which is the point of THIS writing exercise!)* – You sure know how to write an erotic scene, Ms. Hudis. Which you demonstrate in this story on multiple occasion. You manage to paint an incredible picture using only words … uh, what were we talking about, again??* Pleasure – Overall, it was a well-told story with characters it was easy to identify with – in a story of this length, barely reaching “novella”, this is important. A few shortcuts may have been taken with stereotypes in the rock world, but this is probably unavoidable in order to reach completion in your contracted word count.In short, any story that make me glad that I invested my time and effort into reading it is a good one.RATING: 4 stars.Sincerely,AndrewP.S. You got “honest”, and as far as “prompt” goes, if you stretch the definition of the word a little bit, yeah, I did that too.

He loves his strat guitars that are custom made. How can a rock god love and hate touring? If he dislikes being intimate with groupies, and touring, why does he do it? What happens when they stop in a small town, on the way to their first show? The rest of the folks go to get food. Where does Diego go? What happens when he spies a guitar and how much does he pay for it? What does the owner of the shop tell him about the guitar? What happens after he purchases it when he is in his hotel room, alone? This is one erotic and yet creepy read, with what happens with the guitar. You're going to have to read this book to see exactly what happens. OH MY WORD!!!! RECEIVED THIS BOOK AS A GIFT FOR A FAIR/HONEST REVIEW and REVIEWER FOR Bloggin' With M.Brennan.

It's a well thought out storyline that grabs you from the beginning and you can't put it down until you know how it's going to end. Will Diego go crazy from the cursed antique Fender Stratocastor or will the obsessed groupies do him in? You'll have to purchase The Guitarist and find out for yourself. I highly recommend this book!
