Looking forward to reading more By Kiltsandswords This book fits right in with the current contemporary trends, such as Hardwired, Crossfire and The Blackstone Affair. What these series all have in common is fast paced stories, alpha men, heady sex scenes and strong women.Ari meets Dane when he rescues her from some unwanted male attention while working a wedding. She can’t help but notice the enigmatic stranger who captivates her. A few meetings later and Ari has put her wedding planning business on hold and is working for Dane. He is opening one of the most luxurious resorts in Sedona. Ari is thrilled at the opportunity to work on a project this big. But the job comes with a big incentive. Dane offers the job AND himself. He wants Ari and he wants more than a quickie in a hotel room.This leads to the emotional development of the characters. Ari has been scarred by her parent’s marriage and stays away from any and all romantic entanglements. Ari’s evolution is a big part of this story. She not only has great sex with Ari, but the author focuses on the intimacy of the two. I really liked this development. Usually books in this genre are just about the hot sex. That is definitely present (like how does she come that many times?), but Dane teaches Ari about being present with another person and allowing that person into her emotions and heart.While Dane is one of those super rich men, he also is very hands on with his resort. He works hard to overcome the bizarre events that keep delaying the opening of the 10000 Lux. His mysterious past seems to be the root of the issues and eventually it becomes Ari’s problem as well. This is a good plot development as it forces Dane to face his past and deal with Ari as an equal. He demands that she face her intimacy issues, just as she forces him to reveal his secrets.Ari’s family is totally messed up. Her mother is pure evil and I am not sure where this plotline is headed, but she stirs up a lot of conflict. Ari’s father is her sounding board and is an effective character in drawing out her thoughts and emotions.This is the first book in a new series and I am looking forward to reading the next one. While the book doesn’t end on a cliffhanger, it does leave you knowing that there is more conflict, sex and emotions to come.

He tends to be overprotective most of the time, but I adore the way he took care of his own. Ari, the girl he saved from unwanted advances, was his. He knew this the first time he saw her. There was chemistry and sexual tension between them. How I wish this was a dual-POV. It would have been greater if we get to be inside Dane’s brain. He has mysteries and secrets that surround him that you’d be dying to know.As for Ari, I like her relationship with her father. But don’t ask me anything about her mom: OMG, what kind of mother does that to her child? Argh. This is the reason why she guards her heart and built walls around it. Sometimes you’d get frustrated with how the things were going between them because of her insecurities.You get to meet some secondary characters whom you can’t help but love as well and plays a role in their romance.Just like FSOG, the sex was pretty much off the charts. The steamy scenes were never dull from the start down to the last page. Although, I must admit it tends to be pretty much overwhelming.Then the ending, I can’t believe how fast it wrapped up. It was almost rushed, and yet there are some things that were left unresolved which made me think there must be a second book sometime in the near future (*fingers-crossed*) because the mystery is killing me alive!♥ Recommended For: Loves alpha-male, steamy scenes overload and mysteries.

By Sparkymom Not at all familiar with this author, I decided to give the book a try after the description really caught my attention. It is the start of a new series. Ari is the focus of the story. She is a small scale wedding planner just bursting on to a larger scale with more exclusive clientele. When a stranger manhandles Ari inside the bar of her current wedding venue, Dane steps in. Ari never expects to see Dane again, but through several twists of fate, she ends up taking a position directing events for Dane's soon to be opening luxury hotel. Dane also angles for her to take a position in his bed, and he doesn't give up easy. As the relationship between the two heats up, dangerous and seemingly unrelated incidents begin to plague Ari. As Dane investigates, he discovers someone is targeting Ari in order to get to him. He has secrets which place her in danger and connections which threaten everything he holds dear.Though I have to say the couple's initial meeting was a bit awkward to me, I kept reading and was totally sucked in. By the end, the emotions were so high! It was an amazing ending with a sneaky little twist at the end. While it is not a huge cliffhanger, it does leave much unresolved to flow into the next book. I truly cannot wait. It was suspenseful, dangerous, and sexy with characters I want to dig into even deeper.I received an ARC from Net Galley for review.
