By Big Daddy I bought this book as a gift for a young blacksmith ... he us very pleased with it! It has been about 65 years since I last moved a workpiece from the fire to the anvil, and I bought this book to relive my old memories and transfer them to a young man who is operating his own forge shop. Both he and I are pleased with this addition to our respective libraries!This is not a recently authored book, but the contents are, really, timeless!Lots of good, practical; information for the practicing blacksmith!

I was particularly interested in names that came into play throughout the history of the area, the politics behind the Queen Mary, the reference to the many droughts the region endured, learning that the Long Beach City Council had as many as sixteen Council Seats vs the current nine, and the impact the Navy had on the area prior to moving to San Diego. I had no idea growing up in Long Beach that navy and merchant ships dumped their waste and bunker fuel within the confines of the Long Beach Breakwater. I love Long Beach, am a native, and am delighted the book

By Srjaime68 Thoroughly researched and well-written, the book includes numerous details about the personal, political and business wrangling that went into the making of the "Port Town" that became today's Long Beach. The authors do an excellent job of describing the history of Long Beach and its port within the context of the evolution and changing times of California and the nation. Any town would be fortunate to have such a detailed history written about it.

Very enjoyable from start to finish, I was lost in the incredible stories of these girls who take it up to themselves to take what they want and find pleasure with other women. The somewhat rare theme of this book has taken me up by surprise but I ended up liking the material a lot. Every page is full of sensuality and I couldn’t get enough of the steamy action. Definitely well written and it has kept my interest the entire time. Glad I found this one.

A sexy and entertaining read… By Casey Living I love a good erotica story every now and then and was quite intrigued with author Beth Blauen's full length novel that promised a series of scandalous encounters. "Straight Girls" was a highly entertaining read that followed six young women (Evie, Silver, Camille, Ruby, Aubree, and Han) as they set off on a mission of pure pleasure. Ever heard of the Kinsey Scale? In this book, you not only get an intro to it but also get each character's individual score in their bio. The encounters are fun and incredibly hot and I loved the variety here. Definitely a worthwhile read. (The opinions given in this review are 100% my own and are unbiased.)

Goddard I have tried reading erotica from several different authors on Amazon and wanted to read something by Beth Blauen. After reading the other reviews for this book I picked it up on Kindle Unlimited. The title of the book Straight Girls is kind of misleading as the first sexual experience written about in the book is an all female sorority game that takes place with all of the main characters. Having said that the book is full of fantastic writing and very erotic sexual situations. The characters are fully developed and the story was very fun to read. I will definitely read more by this author.

Not the conquest."This story would have been a wonderful full length novel but what there was of it was well written and made you want to cheer for this couple and their developing relationship.Favorite line..."a man who uses a woman for his own sexual gratification, but belittles her into thinking she is no good in bed, is not a dominant personality, but a submissive one."
